The Bill would allow any West Australian who was of sound mind, 21 years or over, can communicate his or her intentions, has a terminal illness that would cause death in two years and was experiencing pain and suffering, to make a request to a medical practitioner for the administration of euthanasia.
The request must be witnessed by two independent and unrelated people.
Mr Chapple said the legislation, which would legalise current practice, had a good chance of being approved and he had received positive feedback from his fellow MPs.
"Members have congratulated me, members I didn’t expect it from," he said.
"I am confident that, while it will be a close debate, it will go up."
